The Equal Civil Partnerships campaign was founded in 2015 with the aim of legalising civil partnerships in the UK for mixed-sex couples. In 2019 a law change allowed mixed-sex couples to register a civil partnership in England and Wales. Northern Ireland followed in 2020 and Scotland in 2021. Purchases from the ECP Red Bubble shop allow the campaign group to maintain the website as a valuable resource, providing a help and information point on the new legal relationship.
