The Machiavelli Gambit was born in the shadow of the three spires of Lichfield Cathedral, fuelled by the friction between the city’s ancient, storied past and the clinical, soulless "hustle culture" of the 2020s. Their music is a sonic manifestation of the "Midlands Malaise"—the feeling of living in a beautiful historic city while being crushed by zero-hour contracts and the digital void.
