My work explores the relationship between Pre-Raphaelite tenets and a Street-Art Graffiti ethos. With influences as diverse as Machiavelli, Caravaggio and Frankenthaler, new tensions are created from both opaque and transparent textures using traditional and abstract narratives. What starts out as hope soon becomes degraded into a dialectic of debilitation, leaving only a sense of futility, but finally emerging into the hope for rebirth and an enlightened new beginning.
