I was born in Broome Western Australia, where I'm of Aboriginal and Asian descent. I'm part of both the Bard/Bardi ‘Saltwater’ people from the Kimberley region and a descendant of the Filipino, Japanese and Chinese people who came to work in the pearling industry at Broome in the early 1900’s. My artistic ability stems from having had close contact at an early age with the elders of Lombadina mission (Djarindjin) where I spent time living the culture of my people.
