My name is Areesha and my art is my conversation with my ancestors, a tool for me to dig deeper into my roots, a cave for my unaccepted darkness and a path to my undiscovered light. It is both personal and political for me. It is funky, it is spiritual, it is young, it is old. It is progressive, it is traditional. It encompasses all aspects of me.
