Maryna Sokolyan

I have worked as a part-time designer and book illustrator, although art has never been more than a hobby until I fell in love with eastern art and sumi-e in particular. Due to its seeming simplicity and deep emotional appeal, sumi-e (suibokuga, Japanese ink wash painting) is a wonderful method of capturing rare moments of clarity and fragile beauty. I have completed a course in Kyiv Japanese culture center, but my pursuit of inspiration and improvement still goes on.
