Nicolas Young

In 1998 I won the Sussex Open American Express art prize, at Brighton museum, (UK). The judges said I was the "least derivative" artist to enter. I have always been interested in how the inventions of mankind have lived with the natural world; only in recent times have we seen under the microscope what the building blocks of life look like. I am a kind of abstract surrealist, painting dreams of unknown and other worlds. All the viewer needs is imagination.
