This artwork was created using pigmented beeswax applied with various low-heat tools like an iron, heat gun, and electric stylus. The technique is known as "Encaustic" translated from the Greek "Encausticos" meaning "To burn in". Encaustic art dates back to ancient Greece and Egypt when wax was used in religious icons, tomb portraits of Kings & Pharaohs, and to colour floor tiles.
