    Born in the part of Kent that is now London, educated in Beckenham, and Oxford and Exeter universities - I learned to fly while at the former. Worked as a research and industrial chemist, during which time I spent a whole day learning to program computers. Then moved on to market research, teaching and lecturing. A late convert to digital photography - I used film for years, and still love it.
