    Fixin’ San Mateo County (FxSMC) is a local grassroots 501c(4) nonprofit organization. We've worked with the community and county leaders to make civilian oversight of the Sheriff's Office a reality. As a result of this work, the county Board voted in November 2022 to work on an ordinance to create both a civilian oversight board and an Office of the Inspector General. Fixin' San Mateo County is dedicated to seeing this work through to ensure oversight is independent, effective, and real.
