When I was a child, my sister told me that artisans in Turkey make an imperfection in their art because only God is perfect, not humans. There were probably more details than that, but being nine, only that part stuck. I now live by that philosophy to remind myself that it is okay to be imperfect. I don’t fix any imperfections, but let the art flow naturally. If you look closely at my art you might find a variation in a pattern or a stray line or an accidental splatter. Joy in imperfections!
