I am a native Midwesterner with no formal training in art or metalwork. I moved to Columbia, South Carolina, in 2015 and was fortunate to have some success there with my scrap metal sculpture. I now live in Illinois and do my work in a half of a barn that I share with many mice, armed with a welder, some basic hand tools, and lots of leftovers. I am particularly interested in exploring the tensions between new and old, natural and mechanical, and alive and dead.
