Aloha! I'm Joelle, mom of 5 from Hawaii and surface designer. I love clean design that combines fun colors and celebrates my love of my home, Hawaii. Pupuka is a Hawaiian word that means “ugly,” but it’s also used as a term of endearment to prevent evil spirits from doing harm to loved ones. Thus “pupuka” is a protection. So much in life worth protecting, worth perpetuating, worth celebrating. My work reflects the things that are pupuka to me. What’s pupuka to you?
