I am at heart a sailor, a sailor who loves to paint the sea, its moods and shifting colors. Also, there is a keen interest in the history of ships and the sailors that have travelled far distances or perished in a dramatic moment of action, in a sea in turmoil. This influence is evident in dramatic watercolors such as “The Gypsy Moth IV” fully caught in the teeth of a gale off Cape Horn or “Red Flag Day” at the San Clemente Pier.
