I make screen-print style posters of everyday Japan in the 1960s Showa era — a matcha bowl on a wooden counter, a wind chime in a summer window, a vending machine glowing in a back alley at night. Everything is drawn in one fixed palette of cream, faded vermillion, mustard and deep green, with the off-register ink and paper grain of old offset printing. Not temples and samurai, but the ordinary rooms and streets people actually lived in. New work every week — follow along.
