For me, expressionism is a formula where relationships and marks represent support to a side of a dichotomy. Heavy contrast within the landscape represents black and white thinking compared to the possibility and difference in tones. Impressionism is the movement of light that is always changing and abstraction is the formlessness and intensity of colors that represents possibility. I incorporate these three styles to arrive at an open place of open minds.
