Often, I am asked why I love painting. The darks and lights are what form every human soul. Darkness is alluring and one can become lost in it, the light is welcoming and safe, loving and peaceful, an aspect of ourselves we are pleased to show the world. The mid-tones are where we linger, the degrees of which we choose to live our existence. These subtleties are visible to the discerning eye. And that is how a painter was born.
