    "Grandma Roses"
I've been seeing these roses in a public place, and this morning the bushes were covered in roses. So i took out my camera and snapped a few pictures. While I was doing so, a lovely older lady drove up and said, "Do you like my roses?" I said yes, very much. I've been admiring them. Then she told me she planted them in memory of her brother, because they would be longer lasting than any other form of remembrance. Then she pointed out the two young oak trees she had planted on either side of the small rose garden and said that these were acorns he had given her. It was the sweetest testament to a loving family remembrance, and I found it very moving. She then told me, "These are called 'Grandma Roses'." So I can in turn tell you. All the roses began with the yellow buds, opening into yellow roses. Then they seem to turn almost white before turning pink. Or some variant thereof. The centers often remain yellow. This morning they were covered in tiny droplets of the early morning drizzle we had, which probably accounts for any irregularities. I had thought when I first saw all those yellow roses that someone had planted them for a loved one. And what luck to meet the lady herself! It was a delightful chance encounter.
