Wild Rabbit
As the summer day grew warmer in the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge, it seemed that any and all wildlife were hiding for the rest of the day. That is, until this rabbit appeared on the trail in front of me. And as luck would have it, he sat still while I slowly got my camera ready, probably thinking that if he didn’t move I didn’t see him. After a few shots, I tried to get a step or two closer, but he was having none of it and scampered a step or two farther away. He seemed to have the distance calibrated. I could get only so close before he would hop a bit down the trail.
