I had been watching this European Herring Gull for quite a bit, and had even been able to get a few in-flight shots of it as it flew close by. Imagine my surprise when it landed on the railing of the upper deck of the cruise ship with a backdrop of the White Cliffs of Dover. It posed for a while before departing back to the air.
