We had horses when we were young and rode western. My cousin had a rescued thoroughbred and a mustang from out west. Our area is full of equestrian farms—race, dressage, eventing, and jumper. Few make money; it’s mostly a labor of love for the wealthy. Still, the abundance of farms and horses makes the area beautiful, with green spaces, unique architecture, and people who truly love the land.
