Artist's Description

My vector drawing using Inkscape (not an automated trace) of RMS Titanic’s sister RMS Olympic, in her role as WWI troopship incorporated into sea images created in DAP & gimp.

No image may be reproduced, copied, edited, published, or uploaded without my permission.

RMS Titanic, sank on the 15th April 1912 and has become a legend still fresh in the minds of millions but little is known of her 2 sister ships.
RMS Britannic (used as a hospital ship in WWI)
also had a very short life and was sunk by a mine (or torpedo) on her 6th voyage, 21st November 1916.
RMS Olympic enjoyed a long and illustrious career of 24 years, from 1911 to 1935. This included service as a troopship during World War I (illustrated here) which gained her the nickname “Old Reliable”. Olympic returned to civilian service after the war and served successfully as an ocean liner throughout the 1920s and into the first half of the 1930s, although increased competition, and the slump in trade during the Great Depression after 1930, made her operation increasingly unprofitable.
She was the largest ocean liner in the world for two periods in 1911–13, interrupted only by the brief career of the Titanic. Olympic retained the title of the largest British-built liner until the RMS Queen Mary was launched in 1934.

The PD image used for my very first vector drawing (no auto trace) of RMS Titanic (all other vector drawings of Titanic are based on my previous vector drawings) is as follows:
