The Mirror

I looked into the mirror
With the broken glass
And saw a sight as tranquil
As morning dew on the grass

For I was standing
In a million places
Seeing the reflections
Of a million faces

And every place
Was bathed in light
Shining on
An unfamiliar sight

They were standing with a smile

And a tear in their eye
Those reflections looking back at me
I found it hard not to cry

For those reflections
Were a part of me
Now trapped in broken shards
Screaming to be free

And like them I felt locked
Into my own core
So i cryed and cryed
Till my eyes were sore

But it would not change the fate
Of a million faces
Trapped in the mirror
Of a million different spaces

I left them there
And retreated in fear
Feeling that their end
Was near

So should I mourn
For those I saw?
Or should I search for the key
To open the broken door?

For if one exists
Maybe they’ll be free
And I can persuade them
To join back with me

For we were always one
It was meant to be
Let your tears melt away
And you shall see

So wait for me my brothers
I will return!
And your golden freedom
I will earn

For your million faces
The mirror can’t contain
When I use use the key
To shatter your prison pane.
