Legend has it that this bus parked in Issaquah, Washington was one of the actual tour busses that was part of the 1958 Tour of the Stars that Buddy Holly headlined. Later on January 31, 1959 during the Winter Dance Party Tour (dubbed the Tour from Hell) Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and the Big Bopper died in a tragic plane crash just outside of Clearlake, Minnesota. The reason they took the plane was they were tired of riding uncomfortable and frozen busses in the dead of winter like this one…. Is this the real bus? I don’t know, but it takes me back and helps me to imagine the time in the 1950’s when Rock and Roll was King!
