Artist's Description

I’m fairly sure than theses cones are from a Cedar of Lebanon Tree even though the tree is in Shropshire, UK as they are widely planted as an ornamental tree in parks and gardens.

It is unknown when the first cedar of Lebanon was planted in Britain, but it dates at least to 1664, when it is mentioned that great read, Sylva, or A Discourse of Forest-Trees and the Propagation of Timber, which I’m sure we’ve all read.
