Tattooed

I dreamed last night that I was tattooed
Not once but twice the needle scrapped my skin with precision and ease
I, however, saw no blood that many say will make you faint
And felt no pain as the tattooist unveiled his ideas past brewed

The first tattoo was carved above my heart
Spread in red and white petal spawn
Carefully entangled in bright green vines
That encircled the whole idea of a lover’s spat

The second tattoo was carved along my back
From my nape to my waist, it all glowed in blue
A prehistoric dragon had its wings apart
As if having all of me in a strange embrace
Somehow, I felt uncomfortable with the dragon’s linear track
No matter how much I adored that shocking azure hue.

The man, once done, charged me a fee
But I heard not a thing and strolled out with my trophies
To whoever did care I showed the fresh permanent ink on my skin
And forgot about the bill and its $120

They say if you dream of this dramatization
There’s a clear wish to impress and, by all means, seduce
I, personally, have no ill will
If it means the release of stress and a good game of seduction.

Artist's Description

I really dreamed this happened and I still haven’t payed the $120.

Getting a tattoo doesn’t seem as scary anymore.
