El fantasma de Canterville (Leon Gieco)

The Canterville Ghost
By Leon Gieco
Argentina
1976

I was a good man
if there is anyone good in this place.
I paid all my debts
I paid my chance to love

nevertheless I’m trashed
and no ones remember anymore,
I pass trough people.
as the Canterville Ghost.

I have been offended a lot
and nobody gave an explanation,
Oh!, I could kill them
I could do it without any fear.

But I have been a fool al time,
beliving in the law,
now that I’m out, I know what freedom means.

Now that I can love you,
I will truly love you,
while I still have air, you would never lack of warm .
I will never pay attention again into the faces of others,
That idiot mask that pulls and pulls backwards

I have died many times,
massacred on the city,
but its better being dead, than being a number that goes and by/

I have records at my tomb
and things that doesn’t hurt me.
After death, baby,
come to visit me
