Choose Carefully Your Game: The Lost Music of Sweeney Todd

When Antony is thrown out of the Judge’s house in the beginning and beaten by Beadle.

Cop: What has this boy done?

Beadle: He took to looking at my master’s ward.

Cop: A boy for a ward will show no disdain, no shame, but the man in the back tacking tricks with his stick really should carefully choose his game.

Beadle: A lesson it is, by my master’s name…

Cop: “Get up boy get up” (whispering) By your master’s name, the boy is not to blame looking to her grace in this wanton place…

Beadle: He deserved it the scoundrel, that placid pale face, she would never find interest in him.

Cop: Go boy now, I’ll take care of this shrew, and you, yes You, hold your tongue, for that which you don’t know, and before this night is through the truth will show…A boy for a ward will show no disdain

Beadle: A lesson, by my master’s name

Cop: The boy is not to blame looking to her grace in this….

Beadle: He deserved it, with that placid face

Both: And before this night is through the truth will show…

Beadle: I’ve had it with you so go you copper scum

Cop: Be careful for this badge still holds a proper drum

Beadle: My master is the great Judge Turpin and you’re quite dumb…If you think
That the badge of a lowly copper scum will restrain my master’s thumbs.

Artist's Description

I love the original movie and the play of Sweeney Todd but the new version left out several scenes and changed the plot a bit. So for the new version I wrote a short song for a scene that was changed, when a copper (police officer) actually stops Beadle from hitting Antony in the back alley.
