Artist's Description

Light makes the background appear to run into the pavillion as a reflection. This is the latest iteration of the Growing house started by Dr Schomburk in the early days of the garden around 1868 just to grow the Victoria amazonica Lily. For a fascinating history of the earlier structure there are some excellent books available from the Botanic Bookshop, including Ghosts of the Garden.

    I love this building, thats the corner I used for one of my images. I love how you can still see the trees continue through the walls of the building.
