I’ve studied Egyptology and hieroglyphics for over forty years. I did this as if it were an article in Smithsonian. I studied the typography and page layout to get everything just right. When I mentioned my idea to one of my best friends, who does web design and internet marketing, he asked me, “What operating system does it use?” I said “What?”
But then I thought about it. They didn’t have apples in ancient Egypt, maybe quince. They certainly weren’t an important food source, so I thought some more. What you see on the laptop screen Pharoah is carrying is a fig, with a bite taken out. Of all the stuff I’ve out over forty-some years, this one is my favorite. A clever idea, an attractive piece, it has inspired me to do some more parodies.
