Shards of Glass.

Façades of lunacy
It’s a humble price to pay
Love on an instant barcode
Can be purchased just when needed
Like your loo paper, use at your own discretion
Then throw it away
A lot like love
As you mend that broken heart

Aiding it with a will
Bandaid or glue
Their heart a pile of brittle glass
Shattered into a thousand pieces
Some sharpe and pointy
Some big and some small
It can be overcome
With just an expiration date
Like in a store
Out of date fish- No use for it here anymore

If love was to have a barcode
And could be brought just when wanted
Then an expiry date would
Not leave any of us
Feeling blue
As a heart less like to break
If all feelings were clearly laid
Out on a table neatly made

No more love taken
It would be spared
For that greater love
And the devastating tears
Of a broken heart
Less likely be broken
Like sharpe shards of glass.

Shards of Glass.
