A 'Single' View.

It’s not lonesome to love
It’s your heart that’s for rent
That space where it’s left blank
And your status remains untouched
It reads ‘Single’
For all to see
The ones who are taken
Who are married
Are choosing to live
In that misery

Whipped some may say
A wedding ring to wear
And a heart that shares those cares
But a band that’s wrapped tight around
Holds a ball and chain
Now no ‘Single’ appears
Just the misery with company
And a dying decay of withered shame.

A 'Single' View.
