Artist's Description

The Silver-spotted Skipper (Epargyreus clarus) is a butterfly of the family Hesperiidae. It is claimed to be the most recognized skipper in North America. The adult has translucent gold spots on the forewings and silvery bands on the hindwings. It ranges from southern Canada throughout most of the United States to northern Mexico. This little guy was taking a break while his buddies enjoyed the milkweed nearby. He was quite a cooperative subject I must say. I captured this little fella on the shore of Lake Telemark with my Nikon D3100 and a Nikon 85mm macro lens.

I suggest viewing it LARGE. =)
