Artist's Description

I painted this in 1971 when I couldn’t paint trees and I was just starting to use acrylics. Also I couldn’t afford cavas/canvas boards so used the rough side of hardboard, primed with white household emulsion paint.
Holy Island is off the Northumberland coast.
The dead tree has been chopped down now and the ruined cottages have roofs.
Acrylic on hard board, 12″×16″ 1971
