Memories of Wisdom

Once we were walking along the golden empire.
The slithering snake never seemed to pose any desire.
With the darkened eyes and burning tongue.
Touched my skin and felt it burn.
Looking into the eyes of tomorrow.

I journeyed through the withered wilderness.
Searching for the things I longed to forget.
With the blackened rose shriveled beneath the sand.
Along the crowded beach of hollowness is where I stand.
Standing on the stone of remembrance.

I hold in my hands the burning flame that is dismissed.
Night’s that have gone insane within the mystical mist.
Inside the deepest ocean the creature sleeps in peace.
No one understands it may be the cure to the disease.
Longing for the truth within the memories of wisdom.
