This is my somewhat altered version of a quote by Hubert Reeves:
“Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshipping.”

But I prefer my version.

I did not care for the word “destroyed” in the original quote, a word which is usually used when referring to inanimate objects, such as buildings, cities, towns, etc. As far as I am concerned Nature, and every being and organism in Nature is alive and therefore slaughtered not destroyed. We are not destroying Nature, we are killing Nature. "The word “destroying” offers no life to it’s subject and allows for disconnect. I also did not capitalize “Nature” in the beginning of the quote to express mankind’s lack of reverence for Nature; it is capitalized in the end to remove the antiquated bigotry from our view.

This needs to be on billboards worldwide.
