Death Can Love (Hades- Part 1)

It was after the great many wars that the earth was void of human life. Commanded by Zeus, Prometheus the Titan began to yet again shape beings from the clay of the earth and adding bits of every living thing to make the common man.
Zeus liked objects of beauty and so Prometheus began to make the beings even more beautiful. Aphrodite inspected some of the figures, and found one that even rivalled her own beauty. She ordered that it be destroyed. But before the statue was thrown into Hephaestus’ smithy, Hades appeared on the mountain, as he was allowed to during the winter solstice. He was to give the new humans life before he left again for the underworld, just as the statue was to be hoisted and thrown into the fire.
“Stop” he said, “what is it that I must do to keep it, Hephaestus?”
“You may take it and do what you like with it, but on one condition, you must keep it hidden from Aphrodite, who has ordered that it should be destroyed.”
Hades nodded, and graciously accepted the gift. But as he returned to the underworld, Hades grew sad. This statue was not alive. Hades took a red rose that was redder than blood and made a pigment, which he coloured her hair with. Hades coloured her eyes with blue icy fire that burned in the torches. As the statue came to life, he named her Axelia, and made her the protector of the newly created humans. But as in all myths and walks of life, each action taken has consequences.
As a result of Axelia doing her job so well, the fates could no longer cut the strings of life. One day, while Axelia was attending to her duties, the fates paid Hades a visit.
