Artist's Description

Lamia’s Cave

The Lamia is one of the more obscure Greek myths and is yet another example of the malicious interference of “The Gods”. This image was in part based on a small mention of the Lamia (Lamiai plural) on the 1974 Genesis album: The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway (CD Disc 2, track 5).

Some other references may be found at Encyclopedia Mythica and Wikipedia – Lamia

Medium: Airbrush and Acrylics on Canson Airbrush Board
Size: 85cm x 45cm (34″ × 18″)
Private Collection
Artist: Peter Nowak (Wizard)

This was actually my very first large format airbrushing and is the first of two related paintings. The second was later rendered on a motorcycle tank (below). However the completed working drawing (further below) of Lamia #2 was done after the bike tank and still awaits final translation into a third full-size work. It will now most likely be rendered digitally.
