Artist's Description

The pink triangle has long been a symbol of the LGBT community. The pink triangle was first used in Nazi Germany to mark homosexual prisoners. Homosexuality was illegal in Nazi Germany under a law called Paragraph 175, which made it a felony. As a direct reference to the legal and political history of the pink triangle symbol, I chose to create my number 67 as the words “sixty seven” typeset in an abstract typestyle made entirely of triangles. The characters are also arranged to form the larger triangle. My only change to the original symbol was to turn it from a downward pointing triangle to an upward pointing triangle to represent positive change.
