Familiar Destructive

Why do we allow the
events of our lives
mishape us
twist our logic
warp our reasoning
pick at our self esteem
chip by chip
Wow I feel like I’ve
woken from a bad dream
only to be greeted
by wreckage
Where was I when
all of this was happening?
Here neither in
mind or spirit
only presence
The days keep rolling
into years
tick by tick
How quickly seconds
turn into minutes
There is a false freedom
in running
the past always catches up
with the present and
I’ve found myself right
in the middle of the collision
A Jedi who’s minds tricks have
been working against him
surrounded by nothing but
the familiar destructive.
