Artist's Description

“Hansel and Gretel” is a fairy tale of German origin, recorded by the Brothers Grimm and published in 1812. Hansel and Gretel are a young brother and sister threatened by a cannibalistic witch living deep in the forest in a house constructed of cake and confectionery. The two children save their lives by outwitting her.

This is a photograph of a stone ornament wall hanging in my living room that measures 170 × 120 and hangs alongside other artists works that have enriched my life for one reason or another in my darkest moments of despair. The only words readable are Handarbolt, Teufelsmoos, Worpswede. There is no date. Riverton, 31/1/2011, Lumix DMC-F3
