The trees and me

I walk beneath the trees and see
dappled sunlight on their leaves
and know the touch
of something bigger than myself

I walk between the trees and feel
the crunch of leaves between my toes
and know fragments of moments
of lives other than mine

I lie amidst the trees and smell
dampened earth and leaf and breeze
and sense the energy
that pulses from within

I sit amidst the trees and hear
rustling leaves and birds and song
carried on the wind
from days gone by

Come with me to my trees
and know life and love and celestial grove
open your heart
to the trees and me
