Artist's Description

I was sitting on my patio enjoying my coffee one morning, and this pilot started Crop Dusting the ricefield across from my house. This really isn’t much of a zoom, the field is 100 ft away. He was using STAM (Propanil, Stam M-4). Its one of the most used weed killers on the market for rice farmers. Also one of the most dangerous….I just kept sitting……We have the 2nd highest cancer rate in America here, on the Grand Prairie around Stuttgart, Ark USA. Its because of this, and a more dangerous chemical, Facet, which is banned in 70% of the world….But not here…..Facet made my horse lose all her fur on her back, and gave her muzzle cancer. In 6 wks after exposure, and it has a 5 mile drift!! Its everywhere here. We can’t get away from it. Its in our houses, jobs, cars and schools. It permeates everything. I have learned to smell the different chemicals used around here…Sad…..I left the high line wires in, to show how close to houses they fly, and how dangerous this is. My dad used to Baby Sit me as a child by letting me ride in HIS old W W II bi-plane open air crop dusters. He would tie me in, put my Flipper goggles on me and I would ride for hours. Never told Mom, it was our secret for decades!!! LOL I Loved it! Mom never could figure out why I was sunburned only on one HALF of my body. Buts probably why we all (me included) has had cancer and emphysema……Taken with a SanyoVPC-E2100.
