Artist's Description

These are my Wild Prairie Sunflowers. Also called Woodland Sunflowers. (helianthus divaricatus) Here on the Grand Prairie in Eastern Arkansas USA, ( in Stuttgart, Ark USA) they grow wild, and bloom late summer. Pretty much all over the state, really…..They get about 4 to 7 feet tall, depending on the soil and sun. Here they were 4 feet. I went out onto the prairie about 5 yrs ago and dug some up. I planted them in my Wildflower Section, of my yard…..Well, they have spilled OUT of their Designated Area in my garden..But thats fine, they can come up anywhere they like! I love them!…………..Taken with a SanyoVPC-E2100. Featured in garden Tripod magazine!
