Artist's Description

Fall beauty turned into an abstract from nature.

Hours passed quickly while playing with autumn leaves. The best thing about this technique is experimenting with zooming or simply twirling the camera to see what evolves. Not one image ever appears the same as the last one. Many images end up deleted but there are some that capture the eye with their beauty.

The colors are ‘as is.’ I lightened the image only a tiny amount. The polarizer plus neutral density allowed for the long shutter speed that was necessary to achieve this diffuse zoom image.

Rhinelander, Wisconsin, USA.

Canon 40D, Canon 10-22mm lens, shutter 6", f/16.0, focal length 18mm, ISO 100, polarizer, neutral density filter, handheld swirling, Jack Frost’s handiwork on autumn leaves and a patio table upon which the leaves rested.
