Too soon.

Too soon,
they grow up,
and move away from innocence,
once so small,
held in arms,
a nurturing defence.

As a dad,
I’ll miss so much,
being needed to make those smiles,
away from me,
on roads of grass,
that will make the distance miles.

I will wait,
be needed again,
and hold out my arms no question,
no age defines,
daddy’s love,
one tear will put me to action.

They my be adults,
families of their own,
but for me they are my babies,
with kids of their own,
and men in their lives,
Daddy loves his little ladies.

Too soon.
