Daughters

My little daughter calls me Daddy,
My eldest refers to me as Dad,
My middle child, laughs and calls me Father,
And all three make me smile.

My little daughter rides in my arms,
My eldest just holds my hand,
My middle child, laughs and runs beside,
And all three make me smile.

My little daughter says I love you,
My eldest thinks I’m cool,
My middle child laughs, she is just like me.
And all three make me smile.

As I age and lose some wisdom,
and my girls grow up themselves,
The light of day may dim slowly,
And all three will make me smile.
