Happily Ever After.

Once upon a time,
I held the hand of one so fair,
In a kingdom of pretty flowers,
A kingdom open to share.
I walked upon the cobblestones,
Head held high to most,
With her by my side,
My posture displayed my boast.
The sun shined down on us,
I felt alive inside,
For my lovely princess,
I had nothing left to hide.
In life of distant memory,
I have loved and lost,
But I learned to love again,
Despite the desparate cost.
Time flew by with her,
Like an eagle left to soar,
I knew a love again,
Never needing something more.
But in my life I faltered,
As I did many times before,
And all that I could offer,
Still left her wanting more.
My princess left this kingdom,
On horse of purest white.
I watched her gallop softly,
Into this good night.
I think about my princess,
I miss her smile and laughter.
Though she left me wanting,
I wish her a happily ever after.

Happily Ever After.
