Autumn.

I hear the sounds of autumn,
In the trees,
And the earth,
Quieted whispering changes,
Of sleepy leaves of brass.
A coolness to the air,
Of frosted blades of grass,
Crisp in mornings light.
Scent of changing seasons,
Fresh upon the wind,
The birds on wing are leaving,
To get away from winter’s grasp.
I walk under coloured treetops,
As leaves burn upon the trees,
The reds and yellow beauty,
To match Autumn’s painted gold.
I whistle in the forest,
The quiet of the day,
I sense the damp of changes,
As breezes fill the canopy.
A smile breaks upon my face,
As the animals scurry by,
Collecting food for winter,
Before Autumn says Goodbye.
These are precious moments,
Alone with tree and path,
Wandering through the cycle,
Rustling leaves seem to laugh.
I love the fall’s sweet wonder,
I love the leaves of gold,
I live to be with autumn,
As the year ages from young to old.

Autumn.
