Welcome if you dare...

Not many know of its existence.
Most that do never leave.
A building stuck in silence.
Screams through padded steel

This building tucked and sandwiched
Down a dark and gated path
In the middle of busy sidewalks
A lighted glow to welcome you

The cities answer to the problem
Over crowding and bedlam’s reign
A house to be the home for
Every issue in the town

As you enter the lights dim
And the men come out to greet
And then you are stuck in silence
In a room white and neat

Passersbys look down the lane way
To see the glowing door
Never stop to take a close look
Lest they lose themselves to stay

Welcome if you dare
To the city sanatorium
Little rooms for you to share
Until the lights dim again

Welcome if you dare...
